ACTIVITY: "ARTISTIC SELFIE" with a mobile app: Google Arts and Culture

Hi there!

How are you? I hope you are fine and ready to play and experiment with your selfie, or any photo from you:

ARTISTIC SELFIE

Follow these steps:

1- Download to your phone the free app Google Arts and Culture.

2- Open the app and click on the image of the camera, at the bottom:

3- Select the first activity, at the top, called Art Transfer (some phones do not allow it, in that case you can try another App called Deep Art Effects).

4- Take a picture of yourself (selfportrait) and select the artistic style you prefer (you have 23 different styles, filters in the app):

VOLUNTARY ACTIVITY EXTRA:

5- Search about the style you chose:

Example: "I have chosen The Scream by Edvard Munch. He was a Norwegian painter and printmaker. He was influenced by German Expressionism in the early 20th century. He is well known for his treatment of emotion such as fear. His painting The Scream (originaly called Despair) was done in 1893, and it is his most known work of art"

6- Then explain why you chose it:

Example: "I have chosen this work because sometimes I feel like screaming out of the window. It reflects very well some of the emotions we might feel now".

7- Post the photo together with the writing (120-150 words minimum) to your Art Teacher.

8- MORE IDEAS EXTRA AND VOLUNTARY:

- You can also retouch the image with another app on your phone or computer.

- You can make a painting based on your work of art. So you would have a digital work and a non-digital on your Art Book, done with any material you prefer.

- You can create a collage with several images yourself using different styles/filters.
