EARTH WITHOUT ART IS JUST EH!?

These are two videos, the first is a parody of the song "Ice, Ice Baby" from Vanilla Ice, and the second is from "Tusa" from Karol G. and Nicki Minaj. I hope it cheers you up, and it also gives you ideas for the project "Wuhan, mon amour". ; )
MORE IDEAS: "1000 PAPER CRANES"
Talking to Laura, the mother of one of our students, about origami like a month ago, she reminded me of the Japanese tradition. This story might give more ideas to work on.
It takes just 10 paper cranes per family, and we got it! Here are a couple of tutorials:
If you want to do it, just post me the photo of your paper cranes, and when we get back we will hand them up in the school.
Remember? This is the way we always start class. So. Let's do it now too! Then you would be talking and talking until I raise my hand for attention:
And... MAGIC!!!. You are all (except you 😉) quiet, paying attention. And magic starts... I miss you. There are really no classes without you. This is just a fake (non interactive) class, unless you write a comment as a feedback. I am looking for the right platform which will allow you to participate, and communicate with other students at the same time. So far, we are using Moodle on the school web. I posted a few Forums for you to participate and communicate your ideas. We could introduce Instagram... for educational purposes, maybe? ´
Now, let me introduce you to my beloved cat: Blue. She is being a reeeeeeally good girl...
Well, I really hope you are ALL doing fine. Your families and friends too. It is a crazy time. So let's get it all out in a creative way...
HERE IS MY PROPOSAL FOR THE NEXT ACTIVITY:
WHAT?A COLLAGE using the photo of yourself or your pet and the famous painting: "The Scream"(Skrik in Norwegian). Remember that creativity is about being flexible and open to new ideas. So if you prefer to use another famous painting, feel free to do it (The Gioconda, for example?) Then add a text of anything you want to SCREAM!!!
HOW?You do not need a printer. You don't even need a computer. You can use your phone, and any app that allows you to do a collage. There are lots of apps for iphone and Android, I personally like PicsArt Photo Editor (you can also use this app to do original posters about "Stay Home", and send them to me as your "Wuhan, mon amour" project)You can work in any other app too.
WHAT IS IT?First let's get a little bit of information about Edvard Munch and his works of art. Remember you have the app Google Arts and Culture, to visit Museums and Galleries virtually. You do not need to travel to Oslo.
Like I always say in class: EVERYBODY CAN DRAW. Well I know... some of my beloved students would reply: "no, if you have no hands"... -and my answer-"use your feet". Remember being creative is not just about art, like drawing is not just about art...
Today I have seen this video, done by the film director: Juan Manuel Cotelo, that has given me lots of artistic ideas for you:
1- We are certainly living a situation that seems to be taken direct from a science fiction film.
2- Well, let's look into that: let's create a scene where we defeat Coronavirus.
3- Who do you choose to be? the hero/heroine or the antihero/heroine? you have a free choice. 4- Imagine the features of the character that represents you (like the avatar) in this "science fiction film", and draw them (with any technique you wish, even computer graphics, if you want).
TASK 1: CREATE YOUR CHARACTER TASK 2: DRAW THE SCENE WHERE YOU (YOUR CHARACTER) DEFEATS CORONAVIRUS.
Here are a few videos and presentations to help you with both tasks.
TASK 1 - CREATING YOUR HERO/HEROINE: Character design process
TASK 2-DRAWING THE SCENE: Perpective in film
In Circle Line Art School you have a lot of different tutorials showing you how to draw anything. Check it out!!!
The AIM or idea of this activity is: Describe yourself (things that you like or dislike, your personality) visually using the technique of the collage. I know a lot of you do not have magazines at home now. You do not need them, you can use toilet paper and paint it, or just colour papers, and your own drawings and lettering.

HISTORY OF THE COLLAGE 5 COLLAGE ARTISTS IN 5 MINUTES WHAT IS A COLLAGE? AND A PHOTOMONTAGE?
UNDERSTANDING COLLAGE
EXPLORING YOUR IDENTITY (Information and images from the blog www.plastinglish.blogspot.com) Making a self-portrait is a great way to express and explore your identity. 1st of ESO: Exploring The idea is to do the silhouettes of your head and fill in your head with a images of what is going in your brain, what you prefer, what you are fond of... You can also extend the images to the outside the silhouette. And add lettering. Ideas to get you started: clothes, music, words, sports, food, people you admire, singers, actors...

EXAMPLE OF A SELF EVALUATION
AND DESCRIPTION OF YOUR WORK OF ART:
"Hi teacher,
This is the description of my work and my evaluation. I think I am being honest:
At the start I needed help from my mom to do the profile of my face. Then I worked on the images that best described me and my hobbies. I used the following images in the collage:
- Fire, to describe my passion in everything I do.
- A beautiful landscape, because we are part of nature, and I love it.
- A wolf pack, because the way wolfs take care of each other, shows the power and strength of the community.
- Portraits of women artists, because their lives inspire me.
I organized all those images in the shape of my profile, like you indicated. And I added the words LOVE, HEALTH AND STRENGTH in the background, because I think it is what we need right now.
I am very happy with the result. I think I have done a good job, because I followed the instructions. It also has a good presentation (clean and tidy) a good composition (distribution of the elements of the drawing in the space of the paper), and I really enjoyed doing it. I think my work does not deserve less than a 9."
